UNICEF recently highlighted Under the Same Sun, an organization that fights discrimination of albinism and protects albinos especially in Tanzania where they are subject to violence and death.

This March 200 people were arrested in Tanzania suspected of being unlicensed traditional healers who use albino body parts in witchcraft. It is widely known that these healers believe albino body parts bring good luck. However, Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete said the practice is “disgusting and a big embarrassment for the nation”.
