Yesterday the Gates Foundation published my latest piece on their blog Impatient Optimists: A Push for Women’s Rights at Rio+20. The piece discusses the UN’s Conference on Sustainable Development that will take place in June and the demands the Women’s Major Group has set in place for the conference.
Women are seeking rights-based improvements that will benefit women, especially women living in poverty, in developing countries. For food, energy, water and sanitation the Women’s Major Group listed these amended negotiations.
Watch the Women’s Major Group intervention on Tuesday May 30th at Rio+20 informals in New York, delivered by Rosa Lizarde of the Feminist Task Force.
