Foodies: Help Hungry Kids Today

,

Even though it pains me to say this there is hunger everywhere, even here in the United States and in our own backyards. In fact, one in every five children in America live in food insecure homes. You may have a neighbor whose children go to school hungry every day or have a friend who is struggling to provide nutritious meals for her family. It’s a tragedy, yet there are those who care immensely about the well-being of children and have pledged to do something about it.

Food bloggers around the country have teamed up with national nonprofit Share Our Strength to raise funds to feed hungry children in the annual Share Our Strength’s Great American Bake Sale. In its third year the food bloggers raised $25,000 through 26 bake sales last year. This year they want to increase their donation to $50,000 for Share Our Strength.

There are going to be local bake sales all over the country. Click here to find one near you. It’s a wonderful, fun, and not to mention sweet way to give to children in need.
