New Partner Announcement – KaBOOM!

, ,

I am so happy to partner with KaBOOM!, a national non-profit dedicated to saving play for America’s children. KaBOOM! creates great playspaces through the participation and leadership of communities. Ultimately, KaBOOM! envisions a place to play within walking distance of every child in America.

A few years ago I had the pleasure of helping to build a playground in a neighborhood space in Compton, California. I will never forget seeing children at the nearby school watching us as we worked.Their school playground was made of concrete. I have never seen anything like that.

I was raised in North Carolina so going to schools with lush, big, green spaces where we could play was the norm. Seeing these children running around on  concrete was mind-blowing.

I was so thrilled when the playground we were building was finally erected. It meant the neighborhood had a beautiful playground to share and the children had a playground to enjoy during school hours.

I am so happy to work with KaBOOM! Look forward to action campaigns on behalf of KaBOOM! starting this summer.
