The next two weeks promise to be extremely busy for the NGO, social good and philanthropy communities. Here are three events that take place this week and next.
Child Survival Call to Action: This Thursday and Friday USAID along with India’s and Ethiopia’s governments will convene the Child Survival Call to Action event at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. During the two-day event high-level talks with stakeholders, partners, members of civil society and the faith community will take place around the issue of ending the millions of preventable child deaths.
Rio + Social: Leading up to the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development, Rio + Social will take place in Rio de Janeiro where social media experts and leaders in the social entrepreneur and social good space will examine the ways in which we communicate ideas about helping others through social media and how those communication methods can be scaled and improved.
Rio + 20: The last time the United Nations convened a conference on sustainable development was 20 years ago. To say this conference is critical to the future of our planet and its citizens is a gross understatement.
Emerging from this conference will be key ideas and plans that aim to move our global society forward in a more sustainable fashion. We will share the discussions that take place throughout the week. Our main focus will be on women and sustainable development.
Be sure to follow our coverage of each event on Twitter, Facebook, and here on the site.
